Rubys ramblings
Time
I said I would do a blog post every month but to be quite honest I've been a little apprehensive about what people may think about them. I don't really do things the usual way with ruby I've always done things my why but not really published them, but if they help someone else then I don't see why I shoudnt blog about them. As I always say I'm by no means a dog trainer, vet etc I'm just a dog walker that has taken a lot of time to study and research different aspects. There isn't one shoe to fit all and I've learnt that in the dog world.
Basically what I wanted to talk about this month is time. I looked at ruby whilst she was on my bed the other morning and noticed a few white hairs around her eyes starting to grow. This at first made me feel quite upset as the shocking realisation that one day she won't be here hit me. Then immediately I thought wow 3 wonderful years we habe had with her already and lots more to come and for that's im truly grateful. I then realised that a dogs life really is a snippet in time they have an entire lifetime but for us it's not long at all.
I will get to my point. I then made eye contact with her and we both shared a moment of joy and I could see how happy and content she is. So I just wanted to invite the people who read this to turn to your beloved pet and just thank them for everything they have brought to your life so far and will carry on doing. I think sometimes we take our dogs for granted and forget to cherish them simple special memories.
Ruby came to me at a very low point in my life. My grandad died a few months before she arrived and I didn't know where to turn. She came and gave me one thing I am eternally grateful for..... Hope! She was at such a low point in her life and so was I, but together we held hands and blossomed. She helped me and I helped her.
I really do believe animals be is dog, sheep, goat are such sentient beings. They have something that we humans don't. They are so in touch with themselves and no ego involved.
I have had the pleasure of seeing a wide variety of rescue dogs at dogs 4 rescue and some of them rip my heart to pieces and yet STILL they have pure love and hope in their eyes.
I think there Is so much we can learn from animals. Dogs truly fascinate me!
So I guess after all this rambling my main point was time. A dear friend once said to me time is our greatest asset I didn't fully understand what that meant till recently. So I just invite you all to truly look at your animals and thank them for the time you have had and will have for in a dogs life they have to us such a small amount of time but that's why I believe it's so important to make that time the best and most loving it can be.
Any thoughts on the next blog then please fire away?
Namaste everyone ❤
